Plagiarism scandal: elections for the post of rector were suspended at the Vinnytsia Medical University

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine suspended the competition for the post of rector of Vinnytsia National Medical University named after M. I. Pirogov. This decision was made due to the probable detection of plagiarism in the scientific works of one of the candidates, the Ministry of Health informs. “There is a risk that voters will develop a biased attitude towards the candidates for the position of rector of the M.I. Pirogov Vinnytsia National Medical University. Accordingly, this may negatively affect the election results,” the department explains. It will be recalled that earlier the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education received a complaint about discovered facts of plagiarism in a scientific article and doctoral dissertation of the rector of the Vinnytsia Medical University Victoria Petrushenko.
