On March 17, the ninth season of “Winter Country” on VDNG ended. This year, it was visited by more than 1.2 million people, which was a record for the history of the project.

The most popular locations of the “Winter Country” were attractions, an ice rink and “debutants” – the exhibition of ice sculptures “Snow Queen” and the exhibition “Illuminarium. The magic of light.” The attendance of 1,212,000 people is the largest in the history of the project.

Within this year’s “Winter Country” special emphasis was placed on studying and honoring Ukrainian traditions. In particular, at VDNG, a folklore and ethnographic performance was shown, which introduced the guests of the Expo Center to the traditions of Christmas, Malanka and Epiphany. And the finale of the winter period was the “Masnytsia”, which was held as close as possible to authentic celebrations: with appropriate decoration of the complex, singing of freckles, burning of effigies and tasting of national cuisine.

In addition, “Winter Country” has traditionally become a platform for supporting defenders. Locations and businesses that worked on the project collected more than UAH 1.5 million for the Defense Forces. And as part of social days, VDNG hosted more than a thousand children from more than 10 charitable organizations, social services and state institutions, who were able to visit the locations of “Winter Country” for free.
