Ukrainians observe +35 degrees on thermometers, and forecasters warn that such heat will last until the end of the week. The Public Health Center tells how to survive these hot days and not harm your health: ✅ stay indoors during the hottest hours – from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; ✅ exercise (sports or walking pets) in the morning or in the evening, when the temperature starts to drop. For those who constantly do sports, Mayo Clinic specialists also recommend a certain time (for example, 1-2 weeks) to adapt to the heat; ✅ if you go outside, be sure to wear light and comfortable clothes, and don’t forget a head covering and sunglasses; ✅ if possible, be in the shade and apply sunscreen. Preferably, it has a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 and a 4- or 5-star ultraviolet (UVA) protection; ✅ drink a lot of water even if you are not thirsty. When the heat subsides, in the evening or at night, ventilate the house. The Center reminds that small and closed rooms (for example, a car) can heat up very quickly. That is why it is important to ensure that babies, children, the elderly and pets are not left alone in a car or other closed spaces. You should also make sure that children in strollers or strollers have enough shade and air. In addition, do not forget that on hot days you can easily get sunstroke and heat stroke.
