The state of sea water in the waters of the Odesa Bay has stabilized after the emergency situation caused by Russia’s terrorist attack on the Kakhovskaya HPP. Red book marble crabs and seahorses have already returned to Odesa Bay, Oleg Kiper, the head of Odesa Regional State Administration, reports. The relevant data were provided by the Department of Ecology and Health Protection of the Odesa Regional Military Administration. According to the data of sample measurements, it can be concluded that the condition of sea water has improved significantly, salinity and other indicators have reached normalized seasonal values. “The intensity of the natural processes of self-cleaning, which are currently taking place in the marine ecosystem, have no analogues in known local technologies for improving the quality of the water environment. Therefore, in this case, favorable climatic and hydrological conditions accelerate the natural processes of biological and hydrological-hydrochemical cleaning,” the message reads. . There are some branches and plant remains on the bottom, but it is not the same picture as it was before,” Kiper writes. The epidemiological situation of infectious diseases in Odesa region is also under control. The number of patients with intestinal infections is lower than the seasonal incidence. It will be recalled that on June 6, the Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovskaya HPP, which caused a large flood. As a result of the disaster, several dozen settlements were flooded, at least 17 people died, the ecosystem was damaged, and almost all the animals in the “Kazkova Dibrova” zoo died. Garbage and household appliances were also carried to the coast of the Black Sea, dead and surviving animals, in particular water snakes, were killed.
