63% of surveyed Ukrainians do not support the distance learning format. This is evidenced by the data of the survey “Between quality and safety: school education and entrance exams in war conditions”, which was conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Foundation “Democratic Initiatives”. Regardless of whether schools are equipped with secure and equipped storage facilities, parents do not support distance education. According to the survey, about 62% of schools in the country have safe and equipped shelters. “In villages, the share of schools with shelters is 14% higher than in large cities, and is 63%. In small cities, 70% of schools are equipped with shelters, while in large cities – only 48%. The share of guardians is from 4% in in small cities, up to 13% in large ones – are generally not familiar with the availability and condition of shelter in the school where their children/grandchildren study,” the study says. 2,021 respondents over the age of 18 who lived in territories controlled by Ukraine took part in the All-Ukrainian survey. Sociologists spoke with them personally in the period from July 3 to 17, 2023. The statistical sampling error does not exceed 2.8% for figures close to 25 or 75%.
