Relatives of captured Ukrainians can receive free legal aid: how to do it

Freed Ukrainians and families of persons still in Russian captivity have the right to free legal aid. In particular, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine reports on receiving legal advice in writing statements or complaints. “If the Commission under the Ministry of Reintegration establishes the fact that these persons were deprived of their freedom as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine, they can receive secondary legal assistance free of charge,” the ministry emphasizes. They add that this assistance provides protection, representation of the interests of the affected persons in court, state and local self-government bodies, as well as drawing up procedural documents. To receive free legal assistance, you must: call the contact center of the free legal assistance system at the number: 0 800 213 103 (you can call on weekdays from 08:00 to 19:00, on weekends – from 09:00 to 18:00); using a chatbot in Telegram (it is necessary to click “Get a consultation”); visit the legal aid office.
