In Great Britain, 32-year-old Kitty Harrison nearly died after her father’s ashes were scattered on top of Mount Snowdon. She lost her footing and “hung” over the abyss for more than three hours.

The nurse held onto a tiny ledge for three hours, balancing at a height of 91 meters. She was rescued with the help of a helicopter, writes The Guardian.

My foot slipped on the stones, I “landed” on a tiny ledge“, Harrison told the BBC SOS: Extreme Rescues program.

The incident happened when the woman was about a third of the way down from the summit, where she said goodbye to her father by scattering his ashes.

As time passed, I shivered from the cold and damp. I could not move a single muscle, my legs were tired and trembling. I thought I would fall before they found me“, she noted.

Rescuers located the woman using the GPS of her mobile phone.

In total, the rescue of the British woman lasted seven hours and was no less extreme.

Because of the uneven terrain and wind speed, the helicopter was unable to get close to Kitty Harrison. The only way for rescuers to reach her was to climb over where she is standing and climb down.

Robin Woodward of Ogwen Mountain Rescue descended 30 meters to rescue the woman and bring her to safety.

She was very confused, because for some time she was in a rather scary place. If she had slipped any lower, it would not have ended well for her“, explained the rescuer.

We will remind, in New Zealand, a climber survived after falling from a mountain 600 meters high, receiving only minor injuries.
