Scholarships will not be paid to students who study at Ukrainian universities but have gone abroad. This cost savings will allow to increase payments to students who remained in Ukraine.
This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, on the air of the telethon.
He noted that there are many scholars in the country who are currently abroad.
“We do not have to pay scholarships to students who are abroad. They can continue to study, but the issue of stipend provision will probably be closed to them. This savings will allow us to increase scholarships for those students who are in Ukraine.
We have to help the students who remain in the country, who are building it with us. The academic scholarship is precisely so that they will be able to obtain the knowledge they will need for the victory of Ukraine and after it“, – he said.
We will remind, Ukraine plans to increase the amount of scholarships for students. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi gave the corresponding mandate to the Ministry of Education and Science.
He said this during a meeting with students and teachers of the Mariupol State University, which in 2022 resumed work on the basis of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture.
According to the head of state, student payments can be increased as early as next year.
