A resident of the village of Lazirky found herself in a reservoir and could not get out on her own. When she was found, only her mouth and nose were visible from the water, according to the National Police. “The police received a report from a local woman that a 73-year-old resident of the village of Lazirky, Novoorzhitsk Territory, left the house and did not return… Search operations continued throughout the night and almost the entire next day,” law enforcement officers say. The police searched for the woman for about a day. Local residents and a police officer of the Novoorzhitsk territorial community also joined the search. When the team combed the area near the reservoir, suddenly a human groan was heard. Approaching the sound, the police officers saw a woman in the water who had almost completely submerged under the water. Only the mouth and nose were visible from the water. The police rushed to the rescue and pulled the exhausted woman to the shore. The woman was wrapped in a warm blanket, because she had hypothermia. The law enforcement officers called medics, who hospitalized the pensioner at Lubensk hospital for intensive treatment. “The police of the Poltava region are sincerely grateful to the caring residents of the Novoorzhitsk community who responded to someone else’s trouble and immediately came to help. After all, thanks to joint efforts, it was possible to save a person’s life,” – say the National Police.
