She gave birth to her father: in Sumy Oblast, the police detained a man who systematically raped his daughter

In Sumy Oblast, a 39-year-old man was informed of the suspicion of raping his own daughter.
The suspect was remanded in custody without determining the amount of bail, the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports.
As the investigation established, in March of this year, a 39-year-old man raped his daughter, who was 13 years old at the time.
Since then, he has periodically committed acts of a sexual nature towards the child.

“Even when the girl became pregnant from her father, they managed to hide this fact from others for a long time. On December 12, the girl gave birth at her place of residence, so her mother had to seek medical help. Only after that, the underage woman in labor told about systematic rape by her father“, the law enforcement officers said.
Now the mother and baby are in a medical facility. Law enforcement officers are investigating the possible involvement of other persons in concealing the crime.
Investigators have started criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Art. 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“rape”).
For the crime committed, the perpetrator faces up to fifteen years of imprisonment. The investigation is currently ongoing.
