“She was in a helpless state”: in Lviv Oblast, a man is suspected of raping a minor

A 34-year-old local resident was arrested in Lviv Oblast on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl. At the time of the crime, the man was drunk, the regional police report. According to law enforcement officers, on September 3 around 11:00 p.m. in one of the villages, a man raped a minor girl, taking advantage of her “helpless state”. The accused was intoxicated and fled from the scene after the rape. The man was informed of the suspicion of committing the crime provided for in Part 3 of Art. 152 (Rape) of the Criminal Code. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of 7 to 20 years. In a comment to “UP. Life”, the spokeswoman of the police of the Lviv region said that the victim was familiar with the man. “The law enforcement officers received a report about this incident from a random eyewitness,” the police added.
