Shelter, security and video surveillance: the government approved the concept of security for educational institutions

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the Concept of Security of Educational Institutions, which provides for the organization of face-to-face training during the war. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Ministry of Education and Science. The concept involves the construction of modern comfortable shelters, as well as new approaches to fire safety, school security with the involvement of relevant police units, access control, video surveillance and inclusiveness. “The most important thing is for education to be safe, for every Ukrainian child to have access to quality education, and for every teacher to feel care and attention,” said the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi. This year, in Ukraine, UAH 1.5 billion of subventions to the regions for arranging shelters in schools have been provided. As noted in the department, special attention will be paid to measures aimed at preventing manifestations of physical and psychological violence, as well as observing the rights and norms of informational and social security of each participant in the educational process. According to Denys Shmyhal, this year in Ukraine, 1.5 billion hryvnias of subventions are provided to the regions for the provision of high-quality shelters in schools. “We expect quick results and effective use of allocated funds from the local government,” the prime minister said.
