Single father who raped underage daughters faces life in prison

A resident of the Tyachiv district in Zakarpattia can be sentenced to life imprisonment for the systematic rape of his underage daughters, whom he raised himself.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zakarpattia Oblast.

“At the end of September last year, a 12-year-old girl from the Tyachiv district contacted the police. The child told the law enforcement officers that her father has been systematically having sex with her against her will for the past few years“– the law enforcement officers write.

According to them, the girl was immediately handed over to the juvenile police. Operatives found evidence that confirmed the applicant’s words. On the same day, the 39-year-old father of the child was detained.

“IN during the investigation, the law enforcement officers found out that in addition to the 12-year-old daughter, her older sister, who was at least 12 years old at the time of the first rape, also suffered from sexual violence. The husband raised both girls on his own“– the National Police of Transcarpathia reported.

The law enforcement officers add that the investigators have collected enough evidence and completed the pre-trial investigation in this case. The accused, as throughout the entire period of the investigation, is in the SIZO. For what he committed, he faces life imprisonment.

At the initiative of the police, both injured girls were taken away from their families. Now they live in an orphanage.

It will be recalled that a man from the Rivne region, who repeatedly raped his 10-year-old stepdaughter, was sentenced to life imprisonment.
