The Ministry of Environment asks to report cases of dolphin deaths: where to contact

The military actions of the Russians continue to cause damage to the environment and ecology, in particular – in the marine environment. More than a thousand cases of dead dolphins have already been registered. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine explained what to do if you see the body of a dolphin. “Almost a thousand cases of dead dolphins have been recorded along the entire coast of the Black Sea. In Ukraine, Bulgaria and Turkey. How many animals have suffered is difficult to predict at the moment, because scientists do not have access to a full-fledged study of the Black and Azov seas,” the Ministry said. Every citizen of Ukraine can help collect evidence of Russian crimes against the environment by reporting the death of marine mammals. To do this, it is necessary to inform the scientists of the Ukrainian Scientific Center of Marine Ecology and the Institute of Zoology named after I. I. Schmalhausen of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on new cases of dolphin deaths. This can be done by calling the following numbers: 067 390 0118 (WhatsApp, Telegram), 095 548 6553 (WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber), 063 970 1500 (WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber). It is important to indicate the place of discovery (coordinates) and attach photos of the dead dolphin. The Ministry emphasizes that you should not touch the bodies of dead dolphins, because they can be a source of infection.
