The patrol police of Boryspil found and handed over the injured buzzard, a bird of prey of the hawk family, to animal rights activists.

A bird in trouble was spotted by local residents near Berezan. Law enforcement brought him to the HAU Wildlife Rescue Center, animal rights activists said on Facebook.

“During patrolling at Berezan police station, concerned citizens contacted the law enforcement officers. They were driving along the same road and found a hawk on the side of the road that could not take off.

We handed him over to the Wildlife Rescue Center, who agreed to provide all necessary medical care.” – says Alla Blahodyr, head of the public relations department of the Boryspil patrol police.

Police officers say that they are often contacted with reports of wild animals in distress, and they do not refuse to help.

“People often turn to us because they don’t know where to take their animals, what to do with them.

“(Law enforcement officers rescue – ed.) there were cats, dogs, and a roe deer. And recently there was a hare that ran across the road.” Alla Blahodyr said.

We will remind you that earlier in the Kyiv region, the police rescued a red-listed lynx that was being sold online.
