Online media “Svidami” published an investigation about one of the most famous psychologists of Ukraine, Spartak Subbota. In the film, which consists of 5 episodes, it is said, in particular, that Spartak pretended to be a candidate of sciences even before the defense of the thesis, lied about the regalia of a psychiatrist and a psychologist. The author of the text, psychotherapist Ilya Poludyonnyi, suggests that Subbota may not have a medical education, and then his psychotherapeutic practice is considered a crime. Also, people started making puns with the name and surname of the hero of the investigation. User Ihor Dinya drew attention to a detail from the investigation that Subbota’s real name is Oleksandr. The head of RBC-Ukraine Lesya Panchenko and anesthesiologist Ivan Chernenko in their posts began to analyze why Spartak Saturday became popular. “This kind of pseudo-psychology for the masses. At least it’s free. There is a demand, there is no desire/possibility to pay for personal therapy – you get a mass by-product,” Lesya Panchenko notes. “The story with Spartak once again demonstrates how easily people are ready to believe certain words, if they are wrapped in the right wrapper,” writes Ivan Chernenko.
