The trailer of the game tape was presented “Stay online” about the events of the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. The film will be released in cinemas in a month – from March 28.

For their tape, the team is led by the director Eva Strelnikova chose a rare format for Ukrainian cinema screenlife – a visual narrative where all events take place on the gadget screen. They explain that such a technique allows the viewer to get as close as possible to the events on the screen, so it helps to dive deeper and empathize with the characters.

According to the plot of the film, the main character Katya receives a laptop to help the military by tracking the movement of enemy troops. She enters the social networks of Andrii’s laptop owner and learns that his young son Sava lost contact with his parents during the evacuation from Buchi. Despite her fear and lack of volunteer experience, Katya promises to reunite her family. However, in the reality of the invasion, the promise is not so easy to fulfill.

The authors say that they created the tape based on the stories of many Ukrainians who tried to stay in touch and help the military and civilians not only in the first weeks of the invasion, but also until now.

Elizaveta Zaitseva, Oleksandr Rudynskyi, Gordiy Dzyubynskyi, Roman Lyakh, Oleksandr Yarema, Olesya Zhurakivska, Yevhen Kovyrzanov, Iryna Tamim, Kateryna Kisten, Anton Skrypets played the main roles in “Leave Online”.

The world premiere of the film took place in July 2023 at the international film festival FANTASIA in Montreal. There, the film won one of the main awards – “The best debut feature film”. The Ukrainian premiere took place in October 2023 at the 52nd Kyiv International Film Festival “Youth”.

The producers of the film announced that 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the “Return Alive” fund. They will be directed at the means of communication for the military, so that they can stay online as long as necessary for Victory.
