Street art artist BFMTH left Russia after threats

A street art artist from Yekaterinburg, performing under the abbreviation BFMTH, left Russia. This was reported by the Spektr publication. The artist, who does not reveal his real name, said that unknown people in civilian clothes threatened him with reprisals if he stayed in the country.

According to the artist, he made his last street work on August 22. Soon after that, in Moscow, he was detained at the entrance and issued a protocol for allegedly disobeying police officers. However, the policeman who accompanied him to the court asked him about his activities. The court sentenced BFMTH to 15 days of administrative arrest. Three hours before the release, a man in civilian clothes and a medical mask approached the special reception desk and said: “If you don’t leave after leaving the special reception desk, you *****.”

The artist left Moscow. However, in other cities – Murom, Kazan and Sochi – he noticed surveillance behind him. He was regularly detained for several hours by the police, asked if he worked for the SBU, and demanded that he leave every town. After that, he flew to Armenia.
