The trailer of the documentary “20 days in Mariupol” by Mstislav Chernov, shot in February-March 2022 in the city besieged by the Russian army, has been released. The film “20 days in Mariupol” tells about the attack of the Russian invaders on the city on February 24, 2022 and shows 20 days of future events: the bombing of houses and a maternity hospital, the life of people in the besieged city, etc. The author of the tape, military correspondent, photographer and video director Mstislav Chernov, along with photographer Yevhen Maloletka and producer and journalist Vasilisa Stepanenko, arrived in Mariupol on February 24 at 3:30 a.m. and became the last journalists to cover the beginning of Russia’s destruction of this city. In March, together with the footage, they managed to leave the besieged city along the green corridor. In January of this year, “20 days in Mariupol” was shown in the competition program of the world documentary film of one of the largest independent film festivals, Sundance. There, Chernov’s tape was awarded the prize of audience sympathy. The other day, a documentary film about Mariupol won two awards at the Docudays documentary film festival about human rights: the main prize in the DOCU/UKRAINE competition and the Audience Award.
