The BBC has announced the shortlists for Books of the Year 2023

Jury of the literary prize Book of the year BBC-2023 announced short lists of nominees.

This was reported in BBC News Ukraine.

The list includes 15 books. They were chosen from among 40 publications that were included in the long lists of the award. The winners of the literary prize will be announced on December 14.

This year, the BBC Book of the Year nominees are evaluated by: literary critic, professor of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Vera Ageevawriter and founder of the award Svitlana Pyrkalopolitical technologist Vitaly Chepynoga and editor-in-chief of BBC Ukraine Marta Shokalo. The jury was joined by a professor of Slavology at the University of Kansas, a translator of works by modern Ukrainian authors into English Vitaly Chernetskyi.

The winner of each nomination will receive a cash prize of £1,000 in hryvnia equivalent and will be able to use the logo of the BBC Book of the Year award in subsequent editions.
