The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision on changes in the conduct of the exam for proficiency in the state language.
A writing task was added to it and the duration increased.
This was reported in the office of the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, Taras Kremin.
The written part of the exam will consist of test tasks and writing a text on a given topic. The oral part, a monologue, will remain unchanged.
The duration of the exam will vary depending on its objectives:
- for people who are required to know the state language and use it during the performance of official duties – 60 minutes (was 30);
- for people who intend to obtain Ukrainian citizenship – 150 minutes (was 120).
The written and oral parts of the exam will be conducted in the form of an anonymous computer-based online exam.
The changes will be implemented from January 1, 2024.
We will remind, according to the study, about 5% of mass media sites do not have a Ukrainian version.
