In Kherson, during the shelling, a fragment of a Russian mine hit the heart of a 4-year-old girl.

Miraculously, the child survived – she was operated on at the Institute of the Heart of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The video from the operating room, when a mine fragment was removed from the heart of a girl from Kherson, was released by the general director of the Institute of the Heart of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, cardiologist Borys Todurov.

In a comment to “Ukrainian Pravda. Life”, the doctor said that the operation took place on November 22 and lasted more than an hour.

The child’s condition is satisfactory. She has already been transferred from the intensive care unit to the general ward. The girl still has a lesion on her leg, because several fragments hit her during the shelling. We removed the fragment from the heart, the leg is healing little by little surgery is not necessary. There is a torn wound and it is healing. So far, everything is fine with the baby“, Todurov commented.

The doctor added:

During the operation, we used neodymium magnets (consisting of an alloy of neodymium, boron and iron) in order to remove fragments from soft tissues – this is less traumatic“.
