The composition of the “Baby Package” has been changed, its cost has increased – the Ministry of Social Policy

From January 1, 2024, the price of the “Baby Package” has increased from UAH 6,816 to UAH 7,689. Its composition was also revised, taking into account the wishes of parents and the opinions of experts.
This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine. There, the new configuration of the baby box was called more rational.
“More products that are in demand have been added to it: for example, reusable moisture-resistant diapers and warm clothes for babies (hats and little onesies. Also, the size of the blanket-blanket has been increased for more convenient use.
And instead, the number of clothes of the smallest size, from which babies grow quickly (bodysuits, rompers) has been reduced.” – the ministry notes.

The increase in the cost of the baby box is due to the increase in the subsistence minimum for children under the age of 6 – up to 2,563 hryvnias.
The ministry notes that the composition of the “Baby Package” is subject to review every four years. At the same time, expert opinions of officials, parents of babies and representatives of UNICEF, as well as focus group studies, should be taken into account.
On the basis of the received information, the Ministry of Social Policy adjusts the content of the “Baby Package” and conducts further negotiations with manufacturers and suppliers. According to Ulyana Tokareva, the Deputy Minister of Social Policy, when determining the configuration of the baby box, the department focuses on the needs of the majority of children.
The adjusted content of “Baby Package” is currently undergoing the state registration process. After that, you will be able to familiarize yourself with it on the department’s website.
