Damage to Ukrainian medical infrastructure facilities is estimated at 2.5 billion dollars. 16.4 billion dollars are needed to restore the health care system of Ukraine over the next 10 years.

Such are the preliminary data of the World Bank, which assesses the losses of the medical system, said the head of the parliamentary Committee on National Health, Medical Aid and Medical Insurance, Mykhailo Radutskyi.

“However, I would like to note that there are no data on the state of institutions in the occupied territories, so the final figures are likely to be even higher.” – noted the People’s Deputy.

According to him, this year more than 4.7 billion hryvnias were allocated from the budget for the restoration of medical facilities. 192 projects are planned to be implemented with these funds.

“216 medical institutions have already been rebuilt, another 163 are in the process, 184 are partially. Modular dispensaries are being installed in the de-occupied territories with the help of the WHO: 10 are working, 5 more will be installed by the end of the year.” – wrote Radutskyi.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the enemy has damaged more than 1,400 medical facilities, and another 193 were completely destroyed. 755 pharmacies were also damaged.

“The terrorist country deliberately attacks hospitals, dispensaries, polyclinics, and maternity hospitals in order to create an additional burden on the health care system and deprive Ukrainians of access to medical services.” – explains the People’s Deputy.
