This was reported by an activist Dmytro Perov.

According to Perov, “Reytarske” LLC filed a lawsuit with the Kyiv District Administrative Court. The rights to this enterprise belong to the Nest construction company.

“Reytarske” LLC is asking the court to cancel the order on assigning the building a protective status and to exclude information about it from the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine. The company plans to build the Reiter Hall business center on the site of the former Kyiv County Zemstvo.

In addition, Dmytro Perov emphasized that the “Nest” company positions itself as a developer that preserves the historical heritage. In particular, the Reiter Hall project received a prestigious award in the field of “Renovation of the historical environment”.

This award is a recognition of our philosophy, which is that we respect history, build professionally and responsibly today, and create real estate objects that will become a true hallmark of the city in the future“, the company noted.

About the building of the Kyiv County Zemstvo

The Kyiv County Zemstvo operated in this building. During 1917-1918, a Ukrainian public and political figure and writer lived there Mykola Shapoval.

At the end of September 2023, the co-founder of the NGO “Museum of Modern Art” Olha Balashova informed about the illegal dismantling of the estate at 37 Reitarska Street. She wrote that the developer is demolishing the estate using illegal documentation.

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine then reacted to the illegal destruction of a building in the historic part of Kyiv. A statement was posted on the Ministry’s telegram channel, demanding to stop the demolition of the historic manor, which is located in the buffer zone of the UNESCO world heritage.

On September 28, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy issued an order in which it granted the status of a monument of local importance to the entire building of the Kyiv County Zemstvo at the address of st. Reitarska 37 and 37-A.
