The film “Ivan and Martha” may return to the theaters next week

The premiere of the documentary film by Serhii Bukovsky “Ivan and Martha” took place on November 2. The very next day, the distributor of the KyivMusicFilm tape wrote that the screening was postponed indefinitely.
On November 5, the founder of the KyivMusicFilm company Kyrylo Marikutsa told “Detektor Media” that the rental can probably be renewed from next week, but in a smaller number of cinemas.
According to Marikutsa, the team has submitted all the prepared documents to Derzhkino in order to include the film in the rental register. On the day of the premiere, it turned out that the tape was not entered into the register due to legal aspects, and cinemas still do not have the right to show the film.
“Previously, such difficulties did not arise. Distributors have very simple communication — we submit documents and get the film included in the register (similar to a rental certificate). We have been engaged in distribution for 7 years and work within the framework of current legislation, we have not done anything that contradicts the norms and laws – therefore there were no conflicts“, Kyrylo Marikutsa said.
The tape can be renewed in the box office next week if all issues are resolved. But the number of cinemas in which the film will be available for viewing will become smaller. This is due to the fact that the schedule in each of the cinemas is created in advance – it is not known whether there will be free sessions to show the film on other dates.
Why was the rental of the film about Ivan and Marta Dzyub canceled earlier?
UP. Culture has already released a review of the film about the life and love story of Ivan and Marta Dzyuba, as well as about the friendship of the sixties in difficult Soviet times.
On the day of the rental, the company learned that it could not release the film due to unresolved legal issues with Derzhkino. In social networks, the KyivMusicFilm team clarified that the Committee is not to blame for the failure of the distribution.
“We are really rooting for the film, and we really want you to have the opportunity to see this incredible story on the big screen.
However, due to the unresolved issues of the producers from Derzhkino, which we learned about only on the day of the start of distribution, we cannot release the film. Currently, cinemas have stopped selling tickets and canceled screenings.
Our team is actively working to resolve this situation, and we will definitely get back to you with good news!“, the film company addressed the audience.
In their appeal, the distributors of the film “Ivan and Martha” do not specify in any way what the unresolved legal issues are. The director of the film, Serhiy Bukovsky, also does not know why the premiere was suddenly stopped.
“We only know that the producers have provided Derzhkino with all the necessary documents. Unfortunately, we were not told when the tape could be returned for rental. However, we are waiting and many of our friends also wanted to see the movie and bought tickets. Very sorry, of course. As Serhii said, Ivan Mykhailovych and his friends would have laughed at this situation.
