On January 30, 2024, Kyiv will host the first large charity concert called “Friends” from the “Culture connects.ua” community – a new society called rally Ukrainians and supporters of Ukraine all over the world around classical music music

The full-scale Russian invasion pushed Ukrainians to search for and assert their own cultural identity. Ukrainian music is deeply rooted in our history.

During the years of statelessness, wars and revolutions, crises and various bans, Ukrainian composers continued to create – each in his own time, recording it and giving it sound.

Therefore, classical music is undoubtedly an important cultural marker and an indispensable element of our self-identification.

To know and study one’s own work, to understand and discover works and names not known to the general public, to popularize and demonstrate all the richness, beauty and color of classical works, to gather around music in the name of our culture, and also to form an understanding of the strategic importance of Ukrainian musical culture – that’s it mission and purpose of the community.

Bohdana Pivnenko, a Ukrainian violinist and leader of the National Ensemble of Soloists “Kyivska Camerata”, is confident in the new generation of composers and musicians and emphasizes the need for comprehensive support for them at the state level.

New times bring challenges to Ukraine and, along with that, incredible chances and opportunities. A great interest in one’s own and a sincere motivation to learn one’s own opens wide avenues for promotion and enlightenment to the “Culture unites” community.

It is planned to raise respect for academic musicians and collectives of Ukraine, support musicians who produce Ukrainian music, directly introduce musical works through the creation of communicative platforms – concerts, lectures, cultural collaborations, music hubs, etc.

The Great Charity Concert initiative is launched on January 30, 2024.

Implementation of ideas Сulture connects.ua is possible thanks to the main defenders of Ukraine’s independence – the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Therefore, the first event is charitable – all funds from the Great Charity Concert will go to the Andrii Hlyvniuk Foundation.

The initiator of the association inUkrainians and supporters of Ukraine all over the world around classical Ukrainian music and its embodiment during the first Great Charity Concert is one of the most famous groups in Ukraine and around the world – National Ensemble of Soloists “Kyivska Camerata”

The concept of community formation was gladly supported by the House of Education and Culture “Master Class” and Thomas Brunner, an Austrian businessman, the initiator of the creation of the Association of Friends in 2018 philharmonic hall in the city of Dnipro, as well as the Culture Conect.Ua fund.
