The goat Zita, who often walked around the city, died in Kyiv: animal rights activists say that she was slaughtered, the police deny

The non-governmental organization for the protection of animal rights URSA reported that in Kyiv, unknown persons killed a domestic goat that often walked in the city center. However, law enforcement officers call another cause of the animal’s death.
Animal rights activists note that on the night of November 13, someone sneaked into the territory where the goats lived in order to brutally kill them.
They claim that the police who arrived at the scene of the crime did not collect all the evidence (violation of the evidence collection protocol).
“And, it seems, there are no plans to find the criminal.” – they assume in the NGO.

In a comment for “UP. Life”, the head of the communication department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, police captain Yulia Girdvilis noted that “the event was registered”, but it was established that the goat did not die at the hands of a person.
“On November 13, the police received a call that the body of an animal had been found on Malia Zhytomyrska without signs of life. Law enforcement officers who went to the scene called a veterinarian. After examining the body, he reported that the death of the goat was caused by the bites of another animal, most likely a dog.” Kyiv police reported.
Law enforcement officials say that local residents heard a dog barking and noise from the area where the goat was. Other animals also had access there.
The Metropolitan Police also claim that, according to their information, the second goat was not injured. URSA says the second goat survived but needs veterinary attention.
What is known about the goats that walked in the center of Kyiv?

Many residents of the capital know the goats, which together with their owner often walked in the center of Kyiv. For several years, they could be found near the Golden Gate, the funicular, Landscape Alley and Volodymyrska hill park.
“They lovingly interacted with all those who were willing, and they took pictures and fed them goodies specially prepared by the owner. The two most gentle girls not only did not disturb, but brought joy and caused smiles on the streets of Kyiv. And Valeriy gave the milk they gave free of charge to the children.” , – reported in the NGO URSA.
To their owners, goats are family members, so now they are in a state of shock, animal rights activists say.
We will remind you that earlier we reported that a tigress from the Wild Animal Rescue Center was injured due to a rocket attack on Kyiv region on November 11. Currently, her condition is improving.
