The Cabinet of Ministers approved the resolution, which provides for the expansion of the list of medicines and medical products subject to centralized procurement.

“Due to the full-scale war in Ukraine, there is an urgent need for prompt provision of health care facilities with medical products for treatment of the consequences of injuries, in particular combat injuries.

That is why trauma plates, rods, transpedicular fixation systems and others will be centrally purchased this year for the first time.” are reported in the Ministry of Health.

These medical products, after purchase, will be distributed according to submitted applications among health care facilities providing traumatological and neurosurgical care.

Also, in 2024, for the first time, hearing aids for the needs of patients who are on special registration will be centrally purchased with budget funds. These means will provide for persons with disabilities, the list of which is stipulated by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1301 dated December 3, 2009.

“In addition, the government’s decision will provide an opportunity to improve care for children with a rare immune disease – Kawasaki disease.

Starting in 2024, these patients will be centrally provided with human immunoglobulin, which is the main treatment for this disease.” – the Ministry of Health explains.

Expenditures for centralized procurement and expansion of the list of necessary medical products, which are most often used for the treatment of injuries, in particular combat injuries, are provided for in the state budget for 2024.
