The Hubble telescope took unusual pictures of a distant spiral galaxy

The Hubble Space Telescope captured the galaxy NGC 4423 at a distance of about 55 million years from Earth. The galaxy is located in the constellation Virgo.

In the image, NGC 4423 has a tubular shape, which is unusual for galaxies. So it can be considered that it is spiral.

NASA describes it as a galaxy with a dense central bulge and a sparsely populated surrounding disk (the part consisting of spiral arms).

Up close, NGC 4423 has the typical features of spiral galaxies – curved arms radiating from a bright center and intersecting with darker, less crowded regions.

During observations, astronomers are limited by the location of the Earth relative to the objects, so the perspective of the image of NGC 4423 is unusual. Objects in the sky are not static, they move quickly relative to each other and this is not always noticeable.

We will remind, before Hubble filmed two galaxies connected by a band of dust and gas.
