In the Mykolaiv region, a man kidnapped an 8-year-old girl and kept her in a dugout: the police rescued her

In Mykolaiv Oblast, a 50-year-old man kidnapped an 8-year-old girl from her yard and hid her in a dugout.

Air reconnaissance and a large team were involved in the search for the child, so the girl was found, informs National Police.

“I went across the yard. She was scared and screamed. I closed my mouth, said “if you scream – the wolves will eat us.” She was scared and stopped screaming. Then I carried her in my arms. Then she asked me to go alone, I put my socks on her and sneakers

The police received a report about the child’s disappearance on March 1 around 8:00 p.m.

Relatives suspected the kidnapping of the child of her grandmother’s former roommate, who lived with the family for a long time.

Law enforcement officers launched a large-scale search operation and created an operational headquarters.

The personnel of the local police department, the district department, the nearest departments, operatives, investigators of the investigation department, juvenile law enforcement officers, experts of criminal analysis of the regional police department, dog experts, military personnel and residents of the village participated in the search.

Law enforcement officers inspected all buildings and premises of the village and its surroundings within a five-kilometer radius, inspected wells, forest strips, wastelands and fields.

“As a result of active searches and operational search measures taken outside the village, the police together with the locals found a masked hiding place underground, in which the intruder was hiding together with the kidnapped girl.

The child was immediately taken away and taken to a medical facility. Kryvdnyk was taken to the police, where investigators detained him in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine”– writes the police.

Psychologists are currently working with the girl.

The man was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 146 of the Criminal Code (Illegal deprivation of liberty or abduction of a minor).

He faces restriction or deprivation of liberty for a term of up to 5 years.

Investigators have already applied to the court for a preventive measure. They want to keep the figure in custody.
