A Ukrainian veteran who lost a leg in the war was forcibly removed from the plane at the Israeli airport in Tel Aviv. This was done by employees of the Hungarian airline Wizz Air. After the incident, they explained the situation and publicly apologized on the official page. According to them, the Ukrainian soldier could not sit in his place because of a prosthetic limb. He said that he lost his leg in the war and is flying to his family in Ukraine. “He cried and shouted: ‘How will I get home?’. He showed the flight attendant a backpack containing gifts for his relatives,” the airline said. The flight crew said he behaved inappropriately and was therefore forced to leave the flight. “We apologize for the inconvenience caused to a passenger on our recent flight from Tel Aviv to Warsaw. Safety is our number one priority, so it is the crew’s responsibility to ensure that all passengers are ready for the flight or have an escort for assistance.” – said after the incident at Wizz Air. They added that if the company’s employees notice that any of the passengers has certain diseases that may harm them during the trip, they are obliged to deny them boarding at their destination. “In this case, it was a difficult but necessary decision, taken in view of the safety of the passenger. He was provided with water and a place to wait for help from the airport staff,” Wizz Air also emphasized. They noted that they regret this incident and are investigating its circumstances.
