Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the psychological state of Ukrainians has somewhat improved. However, the level of life satisfaction fell below the indicators of 2022.

This is evidenced by the survey data of the Razumkov Center on the social feeling of the population, which was conducted in January 2024.

2,000 respondents from territories controlled by Ukraine took part in it.

Respondents rated their psychological state on a scale from 0 to 10, where 0 is the maximum level of calmness and confidence, and 10 is the maximum level of panic, fear and uncertainty.

The average indicator of psychological state was 5.9 points. 25% of respondents rated it with 8-10 points, indicating a high level of fear.

However, in February-March 2023, the results were better than now – the psychological state was estimated at 5.1 points on average.

The level of satisfaction of Ukrainians increased during the last decade before the start of full-scale war. Even in 2022, it was higher than in 2011.

During the survey, he was rated on a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is the respondent “absolutely not satisfied” and 10 is “absolutely satisfied” with his life.

In 2022, this indicator was 5.2 points, while now it has decreased to 4.7. Compared to September-October 2022, life satisfaction decreased the most in the west of the country – from 6.1 to 4.9 points.

The lowest indicator was recorded in the south – 3.9 points.

In addition, the feeling of satisfaction with life decreases with the age of the respondents: those younger than 30 evaluate it at 5.1 points, and those older than 60 – 4.2 points.

The level of trust in other members of society was also measured during the survey. 27% of respondents believe that most people can be trusted. While 62% are of the opinion that one should be careful in relationships with others.

It will be recalled that the study showed that three times more children actually have anxiety than their parents and teachers believe.
