The Ministry of Defense approved the first bulletproof vest adapted to the peculiarities of the structure of the female body.
The sample was approved after a series of field tests, the Ministry of Defense reports.
“Since women’s shoulders are narrower, and the pelvis, on the contrary, is wider than men’s, it was inconvenient for servicemen to work with weapons in “male“ variant of the bulletproof vest“– says Oleksandr Sharko, chief specialist of the Central Department of Development and Material Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The weight of a bulletproof vest for military women depends on the size and configuration and starts from 10.5 kilograms. It also has an outwardly curved armor plate.
