The Ministry of Education and Science suspends the process of unification of universities for the period of the admission campaign.

About this decision reported Minister of Education Oksen Lisovyi.

He reminded that it started on March 14 registration for this year’s national multi-subject test (NMT). The main testing session will take place from May 14 to June 25. Next, the introductory campaign will begin.

“We understand that both entrants and educational institutions are already actively preparing for it. Therefore, we decided during this period not to propose to the government any changes in the network of higher education institutions, except for those that are already under approval by the Central Executive Board (central bodies of executive power – ed. )

We are talking about three draft orders concerning associations of higher education institutions in Lviv, Kryvyi Rih and Dnipro,” – said Lisovyi.

The Minister also noted that over the next few months, the Ministry of Education and Culture will work on developing a plan for the development of individual universities and the entire network of higher education institutions in the future.

Previously, at the MES declared about intentions to reduce the number of Ukrainian higher education institutions, arguing for such necessity by the fact that MrIn recent years, the number of school graduates has been decreasing in Ukraine.

The Minister of Education believes that this is a decision will have a number of advantages. In particular, higher education institutions will have greater opportunities for the development of scientific and educational potential, access to investments and the opportunity to concentrate on the training of qualified specialists.
