The Ministry of Education and Science has submitted proposals for a resolution by which the Ministry of Economy will regulate the number of budget places in universities this year. In 2023, the Ministry of Education and Culture submitted proposals to increase budgetary places in IT specialties and professions that “will be needed for the reconstruction of the country.” In particular, we are talking about engineering specialties, electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, secondary education, construction specialties, architecture, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Andriy Vitrenko told on the air of the Yedyni Novyny telethon. The department also asked to increase the state order for some philological specialties. “We have languages that need special state support: Ukrainian, Crimean Tatar. We believe that these languages deserve to be studied by children at the expense of the state budget,” Vitrenko said. Instead, state contracts for lawyers and economists will not be increased, he added.
