In Ukraine, during the 2022-2023 academic year, 1.5 million children studied remotely. However, not all schoolchildren have gadgets, which is a problem for the quality educational process. The Ministry of Education and Science assured that schoolchildren can get a laptop or tablet for free, and told how it can be done. Who can get a free educational gadget? Also internally displaced schoolchildren, children with special educational needs, disabilities or those who are deprived of parental care. The ministry notes that priority is also determined by areas where distance learning prevails. Usually, devices are distributed proportionally between these regions of Ukraine. Parents need to write a statement about the need for a gadget in the institution where the child studies. When the school receives tablets and laptops, it analyzes and decides how to distribute the devices. The Ministry of Education and Science emphasized that it does not control the process of who will receive a digital device and cannot influence these decisions. You can monitor the transfer of gadgets on the dashboard from the MES. Schools can use it to check the number of gadgets they actually have and complain if there is a discrepancy. What to do when the device is broken There are times when children can accidentally break a gadget, or it is damaged due to a certain situation. In this case, parents should contact their educational institution. Since schools are the owners of equipment received from the government or sponsors, they must try to ensure the recovery of the device themselves.
