As of May 2023, more than 18 million doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 remained in Ukraine. Currently, vaccination against coronavirus in Ukraine will remain free, as long as there is a sufficient number of vaccines. This was announced by Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko during a meeting with journalists on May 8. “In the future, we will look at the situation,” added the head of the department. However, with the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, free vaccination was introduced for risk groups at the expense of the state budget, the employer or local self-government bodies. Currently, the national warehouses have the following number of doses of the vaccine against COVID-19: AstroZeneca – 0; Comirnaty – 2 million; Children’s Comirnaty – 70 thousand; CoronaVac – 3 million; Johnson & Johnson – 896,000. Vaccination remains at regional warehouses: AstroZeneca – 0; Comirnaty – 44 thousand; Comirnaty – 5 thousand; CoronaVac — 1 million; Johnson & Johnson – 13,000. As a reminder, the Moderna vaccine was recognized as more effective against the “Delta” COVID strain compared to Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson.
