The term of passing military medical commissions has shortened, as their number has increased. However, a number of factors affect the time of commissions. This was announced at a briefing on September 7 by Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko. The Minister explained that, despite the fact that VLKs began to be created at civilian hospitals, the final decision on suitability or unfitness for service is made by a representative of the medical forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Viktor Lyashko, several factors affect the time it takes for military commissions to pass after being wounded. One of the most important is the time of receipt of the certificate about the circumstances of the soldier’s injury. In view of this, the minister did not specify the exact time period for which a serviceman, after being wounded, may, according to the decision of the VLK, be sent either to release, or on leave, or be recognized as having limited fitness for military service. The term of passing military medical commissions has shortened, as their number has increased. Meanwhile, the terms of passing military medical examinations for conscripts at Territorial recruitment centers may soon be determined. “Currently, we are working on the implementation of the decision of the National Security Council, we are setting a specific deadline that will suit both the TCC and the hospital, taking into account all potential risks,” says Viktor Lyashko. It will be recalled that the newly appointed Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov announced plans to introduce an electronic military card, launch a single register of conscripts and digitalize all processes of military medical commissions (MMC).
