The National Bank of Ukraine presented a new commemorative coin “Country of superheroes. Thanks to the volunteers!”

As reported in the press service of the institution, since the beginning of the war, almost every Ukrainian has joined volunteering.

“It is already so deep in our DNA that we can safely say: Ukrainians are a nation of volunteers. Therefore, the new commemorative coin is our gratitude to the volunteers who helped and continue to help the military.” – noted NBU Chairman Andriy Pishnyi.

On the obverse of the 5-hryvnia coin, we see symbolic hands weaving a camouflage net.

We don’t know whose they are – women’s, men’s, children’s. But that doesn’t matter. After all, everyone wove their ribbon into a symbolic masking net, which is an image of our joint action and solidarity – to be close to each other and to do a joint work with our own hands for the sake of someone, for the sake of all.” – Pishnyy explained.

The reverse shows a map of Ukraine stylized as a camouflage net. The National Bank calls it a symbol of the unification of the country to achieve a common goal.

The design of the coin was created by a young artist, a student of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, Oleksandr Reznikov.

It will be possible to purchase it from December 6, 2023 in the online store of the National Bank. 15,000 coins will be available on the first day of sale, and 25,000 copies are planned to be sold in total.

We will remind you that the National Bank presented the commemorative coin “Year of the Dragon” with the dedication of the Armed Forces.
