Currently, more than 50,000 people are missing in Ukraine. Before the full-scale invasion of Russia, this number was four times smaller – about 12 thousand.

About this reported Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Andriy Nebytov.

According to him, search work in the conditions of war became more difficult.

“Collection of information, verification of data and implementation of searches are complicated by the unpredictable situation on the front line, massive attacks on peaceful cities, migration of people and temporary occupation of territories.

The workload of the criminal investigation has increased, but operatives are working at their maximum and continue to fight for every human destiny,” – noted Andriy Nebytov

Nebytov emphasizes the importance of the development of investigative work: the search for new action algorithms, international partnership, updating legislation and the involvement of modern technologies.

Former ombudsman toldwhat almost 30,000 Ukrainians are considered missing under special circumstances or those who were illegally deprived of their freedom due to the full-scale invasion of Russia.

We will remind relatives of missing Ukrainians can apply for help to the ombudsman.
