The Picasso painting was sold for almost 140 million dollars

“Woman with a Clock” is a portrait of Picasso’s “golden muse”, a French model Maria-Teresa Walter. The girl is sitting in a chair on a blue background. The picture was painted in 1932.

Maria-Teresa Walter was 17 years old when she met 45-year-old Picasso. Later, she became the lover of the artist, while he was married to the Ukrainian ballerina Olga Khokhlovia.

The girl became the heroine of many paintings by Pablo Picasso. In particular, the picture “Naked woman” (Femme Nue Couchee) was sold at auction in 2022 for $67.5 million.
