The police named the region where violence was most often reported in 2023

Last year, Ukrainians more often reported domestic violence to law enforcement officers than in 2022.
In 2023, the police received more than 291 thousand reports of domestic violence, while in 2022 more than 244 thousand such statements were recorded.
Statistics were provided by the National Police at the request of “UP. Life”. Note that this is not only about appeals from victims, but also about reports of violence against other people.
In 2023, domestic violence was recorded most often in Dnipropetrovsk region (almost 42 thousand applications).
Kyiv region (23.2 thousand) and Kyiv (22.8 thousand) were in second place.

In the Zhytomyr region, there were also many complaints about domestic abusers: more than 13.8 thousand.
In the Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv and Chernihiv regions, this figure exceeded 11,000.
Among the people who contacted the police last year, there were mostly adults (over 280,000).
Also, crimes related to domestic violence were reported more often by women – they received more than 222,000 statements and reports.
Previously, the head of the National Police, Ivan Vyhivskyi, said that 54 specialized units were created in Ukraine, in which 62 mobile response groups for such calls function.
