The concert of the Yekaterinburg rock group “Sansara” in the “Yeltsin Center” was canceled after the outrage of the head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina.
The leader of the group, Alexander Gagarin, announced that the concert would not take place. He promised to tell about the reasons for his cancellation “in detail, but later” and noted that there was no official ban on holding the concert.
The day before, Mizulyna was outraged by the concert planned for August 10 in the Yeltsin Center, which called its holding a “provocation”. In her Telegram channel, she published four screenshots with complaints “from the public” and wrote that their indignation was divided.
Among the screenshots is a message from the “Brotherhood of Academicians”, which recently declared that “Constantinople is a Russian city” and also called for preparations to go to battle for the “new emperor” of Russia.
According to “Public”, Mizulyna complained about the anti-war stance of “Sansary” and its support of the queer community.
- After the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian authorities began to persecute cultural figures because of their opposition to the war. Many artists were left with positions and platforms for performances, some had to go abroad.
