In the capital, on Poshtova Square, the sculptures of the children who are the founders of Kyiv – Kiy, Shchek, Horiv and their sister Lybid, were dressed in festive costumes of angels.
Volodymyr Zhuravel, the author of the sculptural composition, announced this.
“The babies were traditionally dressed up! For me, this is always a symbolic action! Previously, they had already dressed in military uniforms, national costumes, medical costumes…
This time – at the angels, because it’s Christmas. I also very symbolically dressed one of the children in the uniform of a Ukrainian energy worker. Because energy workers today bring light to people! And light is life!”he noted.

“It is important that we all remember the hard work of people who protect and carry light.
And to wish that there would be light and warmth in every house, in every heart! To wish for this light to spread! On this day, and in general throughout our lives, may we carry the light!” he added.
