The shelters of schools and kindergartens during the educational process are available only to students and educators – a resolution of the CMU

During the working day of schools and kindergartens that work offline, shelters can only be used by participants in the educational process.
This is stated in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on “Some issues of keeping records of objects of the fund of protective structures of civil defense”, reports the Office of the Education Ombudsman Serhiy Gorbachev.
“Shelter of educational institutions during the implementation of the educational process according to the full-time form of obtaining education is available only to the participants of the educational process”the ombudsman emphasized.
He added that Ukrainian legislation stipulates that shelters should be located within quick access for citizens.

The radius of pedestrian accessibility to shelters should not exceed:
- 300 meters – for high-rise buildings, high-rise buildings and high-rise buildings, as well as for economic entities assigned to the relevant categories of civil protection;
- 500 meters – for medium- and low-rise buildings.
At the same time, the document from the Cabinet states that educational institutions should not keep records of shelters.
