The Supervisory Board of the UKF has chosen candidates for the head of the fund

The newly elected Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation has chosen three candidates for the position of head of the foundation.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.

“The newly elected supervisory board of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation has chosen 3 candidates for the post of head of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. It Halyna Grigorenko, Natalia Kryvda, Iryna Podolyak“, says the message of the ICIP.

Halyna Hryhorenko – civil servant and manager in the field of culture, head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education (until July 15, 2022), program director of the educational organization “Cultural Project”, deputy minister of culture and information policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko (from July 15, 2022 until July 2023).

Natalia Kryvda – Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Philosophy and Culture of Shevchenko Kyiv University. He specializes in the topics of cultural history, the history of mythology, problems of identity and cultural memory. Since 2018, she has participated in the work of the UKF as an expert.

Iryna Podolyak – political activist, people’s deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 8th convocation, former deputy minister of culture, youth and sports (October 2019 – March 2020). In 1998–2002, she was the manager of the “Yi” independent cultural magazine and coordinator of USAID projects in Lviv.

According to the procedure, these three candidacies are submitted for consideration by the Ministry of Culture. T. v. at. Minister Rostislav Karandeev will approve the head of the UKF.

About the new Supervisory Board of the UKF

On February 8, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy approved the new composition of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.

The renewal of the Supervisory Board was preceded by a scandal: the previous composition of the Supervisory Board was formed at the end of 2020, but already in May 2021, cultural figures accused the Supervisory Board of the UKF of manual management and demanded from Volodymyr Zelensky to dissolve the Supervisory Board of the UKF and cancel its decision.

The controversial Supervisory Board worked until the end of its term of office – until the end of 2023.

And already in January 2024, the online rating voting started for four candidates from cultural institutions and public associations to the Supervisory Board of the UCF.
