Ukrainian gymnast Khrystyna Pogranichna won two gold medals in rhythmic gymnastics in exercises with a hoop and a ribbon at the Universiade in Chengdu, China. In artistic gymnastics competitions at the Universiade, the Ukrainian student team has 5 awards: 2 gold, 2 silver (in individual and team all-around) and one bronze. This was reported in the Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports. Khrystyna Pogranichna also took 4th place in ball exercises and 6th place in club exercises. “I performed to the maximum of satisfaction. I think everyone felt it – the audience, fans, everyone who supports me, the whole of Ukraine. I performed for you and I am very glad that I managed to win two golds for Ukraine,” says Khrystyna Pogranichna. Ukrainian gymnast Khrystyna Pogranichna won two gold medals. Khrystyna represents in the student national team of Ukraine two universities in which she studies at the same time: Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytsky and Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Bobersky. Khrystyna says that it is not easy for her to combine studies at two universities and sports, but the teachers are helping her. Khrystyna represents two universities at once in the student national team of Ukraine “I try to combine everything, because this is my future after gymnastics, it is very important. Half of my family are doctors, and I have been interested in medicine since childhood. It is an interesting profession, that is why I chose medicine as the second university. And the first, of course, is inphys, because now my whole life revolves around sports,” the girl says. Khrystyna says that it is not easy for her to combine studies at two universities and sports. Another medal for Ukraine at the Universiade was won by female athletes in group exercises with five hoops. The team consisting of Diana Dovganyuk, Marta Borys, Anastasia Ptashnyk, Nikol Krasiuk and Daria Ivanyk took third place in the final. On July 28, 2023, the 31st FISU World University Games began. China is hosting its first international multi-sport event since the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 6,500 athletes from 113 countries and regions took part in the Games in Chengdu. The FISU World University Games included 18 sports and 269 events. On July 29, 17 gold medals were won, including five in judo, four in shooting, two in taekwondo and six in wushu. According to the results of the competition, China took the first place, India and Japan shared the second place. Ukraine took 9th place.
