The unified entrance exam-2024 for the master’s degree: general characteristics have been approved

This year, for admission to most master’s programs in Ukraine, students must pass the Unified Entrance Examination (UEI).

The Ukrainian Center for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education is official confirmed general characteristics of EVI tests.

Yes, this year’s Unified Entrance Exam will consist of a test of general academic competence (GTC) and a test of a foreign language – English, German, French or Spanish. Each entrant chooses it independently.

Block of TZNK will contain 27 tasks and will consist of two components: speech and logical-analytical.

23 tasks involve choosing only one correct answer. In others 4which will contain 10 subtasksyou need to fill in the gap in the text by choosing words or phrases from the suggested options.

Evaluate tasks will follow this scheme:

• the entrant will have 1 point for each correct answer in tasks with the choice of one correct answer;
• 1 point for each correctly filled gap in the microtexts.
  

In this way, it will be possible to receive TZNK for the performance of tasks a maximum of 33 points. Entrants will have 75 minutes to pass the test.

The second block – foreign language testing. It will also consist of two parts: reading and using language.

The test will have 30 tasksincluding:

• 6 – to establish compliance. As noted in the UTSOYAO, they will need to select statements or situations from ads or texts, questions from answers or vice versa;
• 5 – where a choice is provided only one correct answer;
• and 19 otherswhere future master’s students have to fill in the blanks in the texts.
  

Evaluate there will be tasks so:

• 1 test point for each correct answer in tasks with one answer option;
• 1 test point each for each correctly defined “logical pair” in matching tasks;
• and 1 test point each for each correctly filled gap in the text.
  

In general, you can get the maximum for completing the tasks in this block 30 points. They will have to be done for 45 minutes.
