Ivan Mykolaichuk’s nephew Mykhailo Hrytsyuk said that Maria Mykolaichuk died after a long illness. The future singer, folklorist, actress, People’s Artist of Ukraine Maria Mykolaichuk was born on April 8, 1941 in the village of Vytylivka, Chernivtsi region. She graduated from the studio at the Chernivtsi Music and Drama Theater named after Olga Kobylyanska, and worked there as an actress. In 1961, she began to sing in the Ukrainian People’s Choir named after Hryhoriy Veryovka. Subsequently, she became a member of the folk vocal trio “Golden Keys” created on the initiative of Ivan Mykolaichuk, which included Nina Matvienko and Valentina Kovalska. Trio “Golden Keys” Together with colleagues from the trio, she starred in the films “Lost Diploma”, “Girl’s Dreams”. She also starred in a cameo role in one of the most famous films with Ivan Mykolaichuk, “The White Bird with a Black Mark”. Mykolaichuk’s last appearance on the big screen was the role of Iryna Serhiivna in Roman Balayan’s film “We are. We are near” (2021).
